8:30 a.m. — Weekly unemployment benefits, which have been better than expected lately, are expected to rise by 11,000 pushing the claims number up to 445,000. Last Thursday, the report showed initial unemployment claims falling by 21,000, to 434,000, down to levels unseen since July.
