Yoga is good for sex, according to an Indian pilot study1 conducted among 40 women.
After 12 weeks of yoga, 3 to 4 participants expressed their more sexually satisfied than before.Researchers have noted a general improvement in the sexuality of the participants around 19%.
Women's responses to a questionnaire completed before and after study, have noted a bonus of 6 aspects measured: desire, arousal, orgasm, lubrication, sexual satisfaction and comfort during andafter sexual intercourse. The effect was more pronounced among women over 45 years.
The yoga program followed by the participants has been developed by researchers. The postures - some of which are illustrated in the image above - were chosen for their supposed effects on muscle tone abdominal and pelvic ovaries, ova, endocrine glands, digestion, joints and mood.
Researchers believe this could be improving the physical and psychological health that yoga would make sex more satisfying.
Women aged 22 years to 55 years, were all enrolled in a course of yoga daily.Neither the professor nor the participants were informed of the research objectives. One wonders, however, if one is to answer a questionnaire on sexuality is not sufficient to influence the results.
The researchers now want to conduct another study on yoga and sex among 1000 subjects, men and women.
